Merry Christmas, Happy Almost New Year and 2025 Review

Dear SCAA Community Member,

“That’s a lot of work for some Baseball, don’t you think?"

When you see the work “down back” at Silver Creek, it’s a reminder that this place is about more than just our sport. It reflects a shared vision brought to life through the hard work and dedication of volunteers who design, build, and care for everything you see. It also represents a multi-talented community that has chosen to make Silver Creek A.A. a priority, and for that, we are truly grateful.

Volunteers, vision, and follow-through are among our community’s greatest strengths—second only to the families who make that service possible. Some volunteers are children or grandchildren of our founding generation; others are new residents discovering Silver Creek through Tee-Ball and their first season of giving back in Springtown, PA. Together, everyone is invited to help carry forward the legacy of this community-supported, non-municipally funded facility with pride and hope for the future.

Cynthia “Cindy” Dannenhower has been a volunteer at Silver Creek A.A. in four different decades - beginning in the Nineties. That makes her one of the longest serving Officers of the Board in our 70+ year history.  She’s here because she wanted better for her four kids and for yours.

Please join us in celebrating her retirement from the Athletic Association’s Executive Board. Although Cindy will continue to coordinate our Lucky Lottery Calendar Program and our best performing fundraiser, The Father’s Day Car Show, we are in need of someone to manage the finances of our day-to-day operations, including our budget. Additionally, our Treasurer serves as a voting member of the Executive Board. Please let us know if your family is the next one to step up to help fill these important responsibilities.

SCAA in 2025

In 2025, SCAA hosted, sponsored, and supported 18 different teams playing in 6 different leagues, playing both Spring and Fall Seasons. Our facility hosted 127 home games, and our teams played an equal number of away games at facilities throughout the Greater Lehigh Valley. The total number of home games and teams is down from 155 in 2024.

January was our first Tailgate and Chili Contest on the Sunday of the NFL’s AFC and NFC Championships. The event was held at the Silver Creek Social Club and featured participation across our Community, Sponsors and some very welcome New Faces.

In June, Palisades High School Graduate and Silver Creek Alumni Greg Grochowiak was the third recipient of the Silver Creek A.A. Community Baseball Scholarship. Our scholarship is funded by spectator fees from The Father’s Day Car Show.

In August, the building housing our Field House, Training and Team Rooms was given a much-needed coat of paint, and we are considering a much larger project to paint the Main Pavilion’s Roof in 2026.

Volunteer Shifts and Fundraising

Outside of Facility Fundraisers and Service Projects, Silver Creek A.A. relies upon Parent Volunteer shifts in Snack Stands to offset the cost of Umpires. Their hard work during home games defrays the cost of player registration and we are grateful to each family who works our Snack Stands. Below is a breakdown of our 2025 Umpire Fees for games played on Fields 1-3.
2025 Umpire Fees

Facility Improvements and Tree Dedication

We continue to plan and refine facility projects that enhance safety and better serve our players, families, and Grove Rental clients. In 2025, we planted 17 new trees as the first step in replacing more than 30 dead ash trees that were removed during the last 5 years. These new trees are being dedicated with markers, beginning with memorials honoring former player Scott Segreaves Jr. and past President Jere Grim. Please reach out to us if you would like to dedicate a tree in the name of a loved one.

Looking Ahead to 2026

We’re already planning for 2026 with major volunteer events and shifts available throughout the year. Here are some key dates and opportunities to get involved:

  • Sponsorship & Solicitation Coordination (Year-round)
  • Snack Stand Coordination (Spring and Fall seasons)
  • Tailgate and Chili Contest: Sunday, January 25th
  • Facility Opening and Cleanup: Early March
  • Opening Day Ceremonies: Saturday, April 25th
  • 24th Father’s Day Car Show: Sunday, June 21st
  • Facility Shutdown and Cleanup: Early November

SCAA meets on the 2nd Wednesday of each month. We’re thankful to all our volunteers—past and present—for making Silver Creek a place for the kids and for all our families. Your contributions past, present and in the future make this unique community experience possible.

Silver Creek Athletic Association's Mission

SCAA is a multi-generational organization that was founded nearly 70 years ago to establish, promote and maintain baseball and softball opportunities for the children of Springfield Township and the Upper Bucks County Region of Pennsylvania. Our efforts have spanned not only decades, but also the lives of area athletes, their families support and many changes in society. Fair Competition, Sportsmanship and Fellowship are the foundation of our mission and these ideals never go out of style.
